Sheriff Ric Bradshaw believes that public safety is the County government’s most important responsibility.
Last year there were 1.2 million calls for service to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office–twice as many as there were in 2006, but there has been no increase in deputies since 2006. Sheriff Bradshaw has made up for some of the extra work load by increases in efficiency and by shifting some duties to civilian workers. Right now our Sheriff’s office has 3,941 employees, including 1,492 sworn deputies and 699 sworn corrections officers. They are assisted by thousands of volunteers.
